Lead Mechanical Engineer
GE VernovaMechanical Engineer responsible for designing and testing instrumentation and control equipment for Nuclear power plants while collaborating with various engineering disciplines.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Demonstrate accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks
- Document requirements and ensure designs meet requirements
- Develop / modify mechanical designs to hold electronic components while meeting all requirements for installations in Nuclear power plants
- Confirm designs meet requirements through analysis and testing
- Engage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risks
- Work with the technical leader to establish an effective work plan
- Apply engineering fundamentals and 1st order engineering principles
- Provide clear and complete analysis documentation
- Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline
- Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
- 4 years industry experience in mechanical design
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and Canada
- Instrumentation and Controls cabinet design experience with cable design and routing experience
- Seismic analysis qualification experience
- Familiarity with Nuclear standards and qualification methods
- Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience
- Extensive familiarity with Inventor, SolidWorks, and / or AutoCAD
