About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Demonstrate accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks
  • Prepare requirement specifications and design specifications, develop embedded firmware and application software, perform module and integrated testing, and creation of all associated documentation
  • Engage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risks
  • Work with the technical leader to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements and work processes
  • Apply engineering fundamentals and 1st order engineering principles to establish and/or confirm expected performance
  • Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering procedures
  • Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline
  • Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 6 years of experience in embedded software development including knowledge of common FPGA languages and software development tools (Version control, IDE’s, Debuggers, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with common HDL languages (Verilog, System Verilog) and PLD/FPGA development tools (Quartus, Vivado, ModelSim, Questa, etc.)
  • Experience in nuclear design or equivalent highly regulated industry
  • Competency in industry standards. IEEE, IEC, IPC, and quality
  • Competency in modeling and test data collection tools
  • Strong verbal communication, as well as facilitation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences – Able to communicate openly, calmly, and crisply in stressful situations
  • Solid technical writing skills with focus on requirements and design documents
  • Knowledge and experience with PCB design, signal analysis and system verification tools (Altium, PSpice, System Verilog, UVM, etc.)
