About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Perform component design related work as governed by ASME Section III and CSA codes and standards
  • Prepare CAD models, drawings, specifications, and detailed design basis documentation for nuclear component designs
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks
  • Understands component material selection & fabrication processes to create optimized component designs and address supplier non-conformances & emergent issues as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
  • 5 years mechanical design experience
  • 2 years of experience working in the nuclear industry
  • 3 years experience performing component design work to ASME Section III standards
  • 1 year of proficiency with Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD design
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% to domestic and international sites occasionally
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
