About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute the analysis, design, test and/or integration related to assigned components, assemblies or process systems
  • Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders
  • Lead the solution of complex technical problems to ensure robust designs
  • Utilize Lean tools to improve current business products and processes
  • Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for all high-pressure shells and casing component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations
  • Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Some experience in designing turbomachinery components
  • Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue and creep
  • Proficiency in English
  • Legal right to work. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas
  • If a GEV QTC employee, must currently occupy the same sub-level or one prior as the proposed sub-level for this position
