About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Execute the analysis, design, test and/or integration related to assigned components, assemblies or process systems
Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders
Lead the solution of complex technical problems to ensure robust designs
Utilize Lean tools to improve current business products and processes
Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for all high-pressure shells and casing component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations
Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent knowledge and experience
Some experience in designing turbomachinery components
Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue and creep
Proficiency in English
Legal right to work. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas
If a GEV QTC employee, must currently occupy the same sub-level or one prior as the proposed sub-level for this position
