About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for project-specific teams developing retrofit designs for the existing steam turbine fleet.
  • Tailor solutions to customer and unit needs aimed at increasing output, improving performance and reliability, and extending the life of installed equipment.
  • Responsible for steampath design and overall technical execution for assigned services projects.
  • Work with engineers across disciplines and global locations, including Schenectady, Baden, and Querétaro, to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Support feasibility studies, technical reporting, and resolution of factory and field issues.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, chemical or similar) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant engineering experience in design of rotating equipment, operability, or services engineering
  • Proficiency in English
  • Advanced degree or Edison Program graduate (desired)
  • Experience in steam turbine component, steampath, or retrofit design (desired)
  • Experience in steam or gas turbine design, operability, retrofit processes, tools and procedures (desired)
  • Self-starter with strong energy, a positive attitude, and a track record of delivering on commitments (desired)
  • Demonstrated alignment with the GE Vernova Way: Innovation, Customers, Lean, and Accountability (desired)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and influence all levels of GE Vernova and customer organizations (desired)
  • Excellent communication skills and strong intercultural awareness (desired)
  • Passion for quality, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements (desired)
  • Proficiency in a second language such as German, French, Spanish, or Polish (desired)
