About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the technical point of reference for the company throughout the investigation-to-order (ITO) phase.
  • Provide technical expertise and develop technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO (requisition) process while collaborating with the sales team.
  • Deliver high technical quality in GE proposals, including processes and programs that make proposals more acceptable (compliant or clarified), efficient and cost-competitive for the customer, while reducing overall performance risk.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of technical proposals, including technical specifications and clarifications, assumptions/exclusions, quantification of design and deliverables, definition of installation scope of work, cost allocation, bill of materials, and estimation of engineering, installation and testing/commissioning based on customer specifications and/or industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to develop subcontractor packages and bid dossiers for electrical equipment.
  • Support the sales team in client presentations of technical capabilities and proposals.
  • Develop new engineering concepts and products based on market feedback.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in design, studies, specifications, estimation and construction on substation, transmission or generation projects within the power generation, distribution or transmission industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preparing and managing technical proposals.
  • Up to 20% travel (may include international travel) and must comply with all relevant corporate travel and tax policies.
