About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- work closely with a team of 8-15 people who are responsible for enhancing, evolving, and supporting large on-premise highly-available Electricity Market Management System (MMS)
- contribute and lead advanced Power Systems Application software design, development, testing, integration and tuning to meet project and/or product commitments
- mainly consist of developing power system features for Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs)
- define, develop, and evolve software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
- provide domain knowledge and/or technical leadership to a team of electricity markets application software engineers
- lead and contribute to electricity market application development and ensure software delivery is on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer expectations
- mentor junior team members
- interact with Product Development Team, Customers, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems OR in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of Four (4) years of experience in Electricity Markets, Security Constrained Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), or Power System Analysis applications (must have at least 1 component in this section)
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or related work in power systems, plus One (1) year of experience in development or project delivery experience in Electricity Market field.
- Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP).
- Experience with testing and test automation.
- Strong knowledge of source control management and GitHub in particular.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S.
