Lead Engineer, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, Chemistry
GE VernovaLead Engineer in CEMS and Plant Chemistry overseeing engineering and execution for power plant projects. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure high-quality technical solutions and project delivery.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the engineering and technical execution of CEMS for power plant projects.
- Develop system architecture, functional specifications, component specifications, and ordering documents for CEMS and related plant chemistry packages.
- Support plant chemistry scope including dosing, sampling, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water/steam cycle applications.
- Prepare and maintain core engineering documents such as P&IDs, calculation notes, interface documents, and technical dossiers.
- Evaluate supplier offers, review supplier documentation, resolve technical queries, and ensure alignment with customer and company standards.
- Manage technical interfaces across suppliers, customers, project teams, and internal engineering functions.
- Support tendering activities by reviewing specifications, identifying risks, and defining the technical approach.
- Provide technical support during project execution, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting, including occasional site support.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and development initiatives within the CEMS and plant chemistry scope.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in CEMS, plant chemistry, or related power plant systems.
- Strong experience in emission monitoring systems, including gas analyzers, instrumentation, and package engineering.
- Good knowledge of plant chemistry systems, including dosing, sampling, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water/steam cycle chemistry.
- Experience developing technical specifications, reviewing supplier documentation, and supporting procurement and execution activities.
- Experience in commissioning support and troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
