About the role

  • Provide technical leadership for nuclear island mechanical system engineering activities supporting BWRX-300 site applications.
  • Ensure work scopes and design inputs are clearly defined and aligned with design basis requirements.
  • Oversee development of engineering plans, schedules, deliverables, and resource needs, ensuring effective workload planning.
  • Collaborate with teams in engineering, licensing, and/or project controls to resolve complex technical issues and integration challenges.
  • Work closely with technical subject matter experts in the mechanical systems engineering discipline to ensure alignment with system functions and requirements.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and growth opportunities for team members.
  • Support integration across multiple engineering disciplines, including architectural engineering, licensing, equipment design, and safety systems.
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies as required on technical issues.
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale power generation industry
  • Leadership experience within an EPC project delivery model executing a full project execution lifecycle
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear mechanical systems design principles, including safety classification, functional requirements, and performance criteria
  • Familiarity with nuclear mechanical codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI/ANS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of earned value management principles and strategies for both proactive schedule management and recovery of off track engineering deliverables
  • Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
  • High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
