About the role
- Provide mentorship and professional development for early-career and lead-level engineers on the team
- Develop and maintain a deep technical knowledge of the design basis for standard plant mechanical systems of the BWRX-300 technology
- Perform detailed gap analysis between standard plant mechanical systems and site-specific requirements
- Evaluate impacts of site-specific requirements on both mechanical systems and their system and building interfaces
- Develop and propose conceptual design solutions to resolve site application challenges
- Support integration across multiple engineering disciplines
- Participate in design evolution programs that extend and improve modularization strategies
- Contribute to an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages are compatible with standard product offerings
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal engineering teams
- Interface with external partners, customers, and applicable country specific regulatory agencies on technical issues
- Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks
- Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure quality of deliverables
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH
- Support GEVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification
- Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical systems engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale power generation industry
- Eligibility for access to U.S. export-controlled information
