About the role

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the design basis for standard plant electrical systems of the BWRX-300 technology
  • Support gap analysis between stand plant electrical systems and site-specific requirements, including regulatory requirements, electrical codes and standards, transmission system and grid interconnection requirements, and local power system reliability requirements
  • Evaluate impacts of site-specific requirements on both plant electrical systems and grid interface/switchyard systems
  • Support integration across multiple engineering disciplines, including architectural engineering, licensing, equipment design, and safety systems
  • Participate in design evolution programs that extend and improve our modularization strategies
  • Contribute to an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages for selected sites are compatible with our standard product offering
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal engineering teams
  • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies as required on technical issues
  • Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks associated with different opportunities
  • Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure the quality of deliverables
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
  • Support GVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification
  • Ensure adherence to GVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in power generation, nuclear, or other regulated infrastructure industries with significant electric power systems
  • Knowledge of nuclear electric power systems design principles, including safety classification, diverse train architecture, and redundancy
  • Familiarity with nuclear electrical codes and standards such as IEEE, NFPA, and other regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with the interface between plant power systems and utility grid requirements
  • Knowledge of diverse regulatory schemes (e.g., US NRC, CNSC, IAEA, etc.) and grid code requirements (e.g., US regions, Canada, EU, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modular solutions and associated interface requirements
  • Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change mgmt)
  • EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
  • Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
