About the role

  • Plan and monitor land transportation of wind turbine components from GE Vernova / supplier facilities or ports of import to construction sites in cooperation with logistics service providers applicable internal functions
  • Advise for and operate most efficient transport strategy, including modes, routing, transport equipment, delivery schedule
  • Coordinate and track pick-ups and deliveries with logistics service providers and port operators on a daily basis, track component lead times
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
  • Request logistics service purchase orders and ensure receipt
  • Monthly forecast update of budget and reporting out
  • Work on vendor claim management and vendor recovery, e.g. send out Non-Conformity notes, liability notes etc.
  • Operate and communicate logistics related safety and quality processes, including Non-Conformance/ Incident procedures
  • Ensure operational carrier compliance with GE Vernova policies or procedures for product handling, storage and transport
  • Identify and implement cost saving opportunities
  • Re-examine current practices considering changing business environment, new vendors and requirements

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training (Ausbildung) or Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation or a related field, or an equivalent qualification acquired through relevant professional experience
  • Deep knowledge of import / export matters to manage international transports
  • Experience in managing international business transactions and shipping documents
  • Proficiency in working with transport management applications for daily transport planning and tracking
  • Project management abilities, able to manage multiple tasks and meet reasonable targets and goals
  • Proven project reporting skills
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Clear thinking mindset to understand complex situations and act adequately
  • Ability to manage multiple Logistics Service Providers in parallel
  • Self-confident and persistent characteristics for executing delivery schedules
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global, cross‑functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks with a proven ability to meet hard deadlines
  • Fluent verbal and written language skills in English, German and/or Spanish.
