About the role

  • Under the responsibility of the Director of Systems Engineering, you will be tasked with developing and leading the Project Engineering Office.
  • Assess the resource needs of this office.
  • Recruit and develop the skills of the office staff.
  • Coordinate and support engineering functions across three main missions: operations; processes and continuous improvement; and project quality.
  • Prepare engineering S&OP and establish the workload plan.
  • Standardize methodology and define engineering performance indicators.
  • Organize periodic project reviews and establish the resulting action plans.
  • Define continuous improvement initiatives to increase engineering effectiveness.
  • Develop the engineering quality manual and supporting materials for team members.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or engineering degree, preferably in electrical engineering (electrotechnics/power electronics/control systems, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering, preferably with electrical equipment
  • Able to manage a team and interface with other engineering teams or support functions
  • Proficient in engineering processes
  • Proficient in Lean processes and continuous improvement tools
  • Able to motivate engineering teams and encourage team spirit
  • Leadership and assertiveness
  • Willingness to take on responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills at all interface levels, both written and oral: internal/external customers, leadership, team managers, other support function managers
  • Fluent English, read, written and spoken
  • Occasional travel expected
