About the role
- Ensure compliance with Polish and international nuclear safety regulations related to accident analysis and licensing for GVH reactors in Poland.
- Interact with the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), customers, and industry stakeholders to support licensing applications, regulatory reviews, and the development of safety cases for nuclear power plants.
- Support the Polish Licensing Manager, Regulatory Affairs, in interactions with the PAA.
- Develop and review licensing application submissions, including regulatory reports and technical justifications.
- Ensure alignment with relevant Polish, U.S., and international nuclear regulatory guidance, standards, and safety requirements.
- Provide regulatory and technical support to internal engineering and project teams.
- Engage with customers, regulatory authorities, contractors, and industry working groups to support licensing activities.
- Contribute to the development, review, and defense of nuclear safety cases.
Requirements
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Energy/Nuclear Engineering or a closely related nuclear science/engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear regulatory affairs or nuclear licensing.
- Option 2: Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related nuclear science/engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear regulatory affairs or nuclear licensing.
- Option 3: Doctoral (PhD) degree in Nuclear Engineering, Reactor Physics, Nuclear Safety analyses, or a closely related nuclear field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear regulatory affairs or nuclear licensing.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English and Polish.
- Solid understanding of nuclear regulatory processes, safety requirements, and compliance expectations.
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and defend safety cases and address regulatory challenges effectively.
- Experience reviewing technical and engineering documentation to establish regulatory justifications and compliance strategies.
- Ability to interpret and analyze regulatory concerns and identify potential barriers to approval.
- Familiarity with national and international nuclear regulatory frameworks, industry best practices, and relevant guidance.
- Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills for interacting with regulators, customers, and technical teams.
