About the role

  • Responsible for developing commercial proposals, contract negotiation and managing commercial risk to secure profitable business for the Power Conversion business.
  • Lead contract negotiations and customer meetings including the legal aspects of the contract i.e. limitation of liability, insurance, indemnities, etc.., and bring the deal for closure/contract signature.
  • Understand and have the ability to create project cash flows based on the project profile, exchange rates fluctuations (USD, EUR, BRL, etc), and cost escalation models.
  • Become proficient with use of financial, cost/pricing and technical tools associated with above responsibilities.
  • Development of commercial proposals for low, medium and complex RFQ/RFI/RFP, working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering and Sourcing aligning customers’ expectations against the company’s profitability and risk profiles.
  • Ensure compliance with the commercial risk process for all transactions and lead the technical, profitability and commercial inputs during presentations at risk meetings.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' opinions on particular topics by guiding others to consider a different point of view.
  • Interfaces with other GE Vernova businesses and works globally to increase our penetration in the markets.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, markets, sales processes, or customers.
  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Works with regional commercial and risk teams to identify opportunities for simplification and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or equivalent (minimum of 10 years of professional experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial operations, Sales, Business and/or Contract Law or equivalent experience associated with gas / steam turbine / power plant, wind power, variable frequency drives, electric motors, or grid products
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with reviewing customer specifications, proposal development, contract development and direct negotiations for equipment and/ or services sales and consortium agreements
  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time.
