About the role
- Project management
- Scope of work and schedule
- Responsible for consolidating the list of provisional drawings, their submission dates and the overall engineering activity schedule.
- Regular monitoring of critical activities by the Project Engineering Managers (PEMs) across disciplines.
- Support PEMs of work packages in anticipating and resolving delivery issues.
- Coordinate with discipline PEMs on delivery schedules for technical interfaces and verify the implementation and compliance of information exchange procedures.
- Challenge the overall engineering activity schedule.
- Budget and resources
- Assist project managers in securing required resources.
- Ensure monthly budget tracking, identify potential savings and variances using the change log.
- Ensure that cost allocations are correctly assigned according to the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to guarantee optimal return on investment.
- Technical responsibility
- Responsible to the client for the technical execution of the project.
- Ensure compliance with the client's technical requirements: clause-by-clause analysis.
- In collaboration with all PEMs, ensure consistency of responses to the client and verify cross-impacts of comments.
- Manage client technical meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years' engineering experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) environment within power transmission or distribution, power generation, or oil & gas sectors, in an international context.
- Strong command of engineering processes and electrical design for power transmission projects.
- Proven track record in technical management of large-scale projects with complex interfaces.
- International mobility required.
- Fluent English is mandatory.
- Modern Standard Arabic is a plus.
