About the role
- Manage tendering activities — ensure GE's tendering policy is understood and correctly applied by the team
- Primarily manage complex bids for North America and other regions, from opportunity identification through order execution
- Lead complex tender processes and coordinate in a timely manner with various departments and internal units so GE can respond on time and meet customer requirements
- Work with Procurement to obtain quotes for service estimations and with Engineering to ensure GE's proposal complies with the customer's RFQ
- Establish market pricing levels, assess opportunity risks, and manage timely delivery and accuracy of proposals
- Contribute to contract negotiations with customers
- Be able to read, understand, and negotiate complex contractual terms
- Be able to prepare complex technical and commercial proposals in English
Requirements
- University degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time within the United States and Canada
- Must comply with all company travel and tax policies
- Experience in commercial and tendering roles in a similar environment
- Experience in the high-voltage transmission market is preferred
- Knowledge of the North American market environment is required
- Fluent English required; French is an asset
