About the role

  • Perform the differential expansion, radial and axial clearance calculation and checks for NPI, new units, and service upgrade projects.
  • Perform and check the axial thrust calculation for NPI, new units, and service upgrade projects.
  • Be the technical leader for all items related to clearances and thrust for the entire GPT Steam Turbine team.
  • Support shop and site crew for any issue/analysis related to clearances, thrust, and component alignment, including performing RCA’s.
  • Support NPI and feasibility studies analyzing the impact of new technology features on clearances and thrust.
  • Maintain and update related design practices and documentation, taking into consideration harmonization of the legacy design of both GE and ALSTOM.

Requirements

  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Proven engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and/or operability.
  • Familiarity with Steam Turbine component design/operability design process, tools, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in English.
