About the role
- Perform the differential expansion, radial and axial clearance calculation and checks for NPI, new units, and service upgrade projects.
- Perform and check the axial thrust calculation for NPI, new units, and service upgrade projects.
- Be the technical leader for all items related to clearances and thrust for the entire GPT Steam Turbine team.
- Support shop and site crew for any issue/analysis related to clearances, thrust, and component alignment, including performing RCA’s.
- Support NPI and feasibility studies analyzing the impact of new technology features on clearances and thrust.
- Maintain and update related design practices and documentation, taking into consideration harmonization of the legacy design of both GE and ALSTOM.
Requirements
- Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- Proven engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and/or operability.
- Familiarity with Steam Turbine component design/operability design process, tools, and procedures.
- Proficiency in English.
