About the role

  • Perform plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, and other safety analyses with general expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques.
  • Support fuel projects including reload analyses, methods implementation, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues.
  • Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers.
  • Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification.
  • Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in BWR plant thermal hydraulic stability safety analysis & methods (desired).
  • Experience in Stability analyses, plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologies (desired).
  • M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems (desired).
  • Experience with BWR technology and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements (desired).
  • Knowledge of plant operational support in the Stability area (desired).
  • Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements (desired).
  • Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC) (desired).
  • Experience with BWR/PWR T/H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, & TRACE (desired).
  • Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON (desired).
  • Eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled information; final offers contingent on ability to obtain authorization (required for role).
