About the role

  • Work with a team of 8-15 to enhance, evolve, and support large on-premise highly-available Electricity Market Management System (MMS)
  • Contribute and lead advanced Power Systems Application software design, development, testing, integration and tuning
  • Develop power system features for Electric Utilities, ISOs and TSOs
  • Provide domain knowledge and/or technical leadership to a team of electricity markets application software engineers
  • Lead and contribute to electricity market application development ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Write design notes, testing procedures, and provide budgetary estimates
  • Work with customers throughout project life cycle to meet quality standards and functional requirements
  • Mentor junior team members and interact with Product Development Team, Customers, Solution Providers, and cross-functional teams
  • Apply SDLC principles and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation, refactoring, and testing techniques

Requirements

  • Ph. D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems OR in STEM majors
  • Six (6) to Eight (10) years of experience in Power systems Analysis, or Security Constrained Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP)
  • Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)
  • Experience with testing and test automation
  • Strong knowledge of source control management and GitHub
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software development practices, languages, and tools
  • Self-starter; comfortable pulling together information from multiple resources
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bellevue, WA if the need arises
