You will be part of an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages are aligned with our standard offering.
Review/comment and approve all the geotechnical reports submitted by the AE
Perform comprehensive review of all the geotechnical soil testing plans
Review and approve the site characterization plans and bore logging plans
Review and approve the geotechnical testing plans.
Work with the semiologist and SASSI team to develop the PSHA.
Work with the civil internal team developing geotechnical information input
You will establish and maintain effective discipline specific design interfaces and document these in deliverables that become part of proposals and/or contracts.
Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal discipline engineering teams.
Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues.
Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks associated with different opportunities.
Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.
Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities.
Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH.
Support GEVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification.
Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline
At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry
Master’s or PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering Discipline or similar
Professional Engineer registration in one or more state
Proven ability to be a liaison between organizations that are operating in separate geographic locations
High performing individual with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
High performing energetic leader with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change management)
EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plant
Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
