Reporting to the Cost Programme Manager BWRX-300, the Senior Cost Analyst - Value Engineering is responsible for modeling the cost of components, systems, and products
Support commercial negotiations that are grounded with cost data insight
Support engineering and manufacturing by illustrating what drives costs seeking to find the best value solutions
Leading projects that reduce the total cost of the product by working with and across the engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing teams
Experts in cost estimating methods focusing on Materials, Casting/Forging, Fabrication/Assembly, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Logistics, Construction
Selection and use of fit for purpose tool to provide relevant and timely cost estimates to support estimations, design decisions, or procurement negotiations
Build external awareness of commercial tools and emergent capability to continually improve the way we operate and the tools we use
Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, site installation, and finance to develop Total Cost of Ownership Models
Train and coach engineering and procurement teams to proactively use cost modelling techniques to provide real time insights
Maintain a dossier of competitor intelligence and cost target models to challenge and bring forward cost opportunities
Visit suppliers and challenge with lean and best practices to optimize manufacturing processes, CoS, Supply Chain design for lowest TCA
Lead and develop a culture supportive of the GE Vernova Way, ensuring effective communication across the organization, engaging with team members to ensure understanding and alignment with operational goals
Requirements
Bachelor's engineering degree from a regionally accredited college or university
5 years of relevant professional work experience in material planning, sourcing, manufacturing, or engineering in energy, aviation, ship-building, industrial, automotive, or other high value add industries
Eligibility requires access to U.S. export-controlled information
Manufacturing experience across high value add industries
Knowledge of the disciplines of supply chain management, including production operations, inventory controls, costing systems, financial reporting measures
Proven detailed cost analytics experience
Cost out and/or Finance experience
Prior experience in change management & process definition
Experience in multiple functions such as engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, projects, logistics, construction
Ability to support multiple internal customers and partners with competing priorities in a matrixed environment
Experience of operating in a matrix environment with strong relationship-building skills, combined with a clear understanding of global process and transactional flows
Ability to influence up and down the organization and across the functions by provided fact based analysis to help inform decision making
Strong oral and written communication skills.
