About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and support detection, repair, retrofit, and maintenance solutions for high-priority issues in the GEV wind turbine fleet
- Collaborate across Fleet Performance Management and the broader wind engineering organization to track emerging issues and technologies
- Prioritize issues using organized and quantitative methods
- Analyze operating turbine data and lab test data to formulate data-driven next steps
- Travel to GEV test labs and installed wind turbines to trial and develop solutions
- Produce technical documentation, leadership presentations, field procedures, and safe execution guidance
- Build technical expertise while working with senior engineers
- Mentor newer engineers in areas of expertise
- Lead meetings with engineers, customers, and leadership
- Lead small project teams and seek consensus in multidisciplinary settings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 8 years of experience in Wind or other similar industry
- Minimum of 4 years experience in the wind industry or other similar industry
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% domestically
- Must be physically able and willing to climb and perform work inside an installed GEV onshore wind turbine
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to document, plan, and execute programs
- Strong data analytics and presentation skills
- Strong background in mechanical equipment
- Experience with Fleet management, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and/or data-driven decision-making projects
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
