About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support Mechanical Systems engineering activities for the BWRX-300 SMR system design and coordinate with site construction activities
Perform analysis and design work supporting system requirements and specifications
Coordinate and manage the disposition of Field Change Notices and Non-Conformances Reports
Provide technical advice and support to solve site problems
Serve as a key member of the Systems Engineering leadership team
Deliver technical and engineering work needed to support BWRX-300 SMR design
Liaise with customers in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management
Interface with cross-functional teams and departments to complete system design activities
Coordinate design deliverables during fabrication, procurement, and construction phases
Support mechanical system engineering during design and construction activities
Ensure projects are constructed according to plans and specifications
Address technical issues between construction, fabrication, and design teams
Monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Undertake corrective and preventive actions resulting from quality noncompliance monitoring and audit programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering role
Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear system design activities, including development of process flow diagrams, thermodynamic and heat/fluid flow transfer calculations, and engineering specifications
Legal authorization to work in the United States for U.S.-based positions
Legal authorization to work in Canada for Canadian-based positions
Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable
Citizenship eligibility under U.S. Export Control Laws or specific authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy
Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining commitment to personal and nuclear safety principles
Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Ontario P. Eng license strongly preferred for Canadian applicants
