About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Senior Engineers to develop and implement new designs and design improvements
  • Execute and document subsystem and component/software validation test plans
  • Evaluate power circuit protection and coordination
  • Participate in FMEA, risk assessment, and root cause analysis activities
  • Provide technical clarification of designs with suppliers, manufacturing, and services teams
  • Test and qualify components and firmware for production
  • Resolve issues as needed to maintain product quality
  • Grow skills as a member of the Product Development team, collaborating across system engineering, electrical system and power conversion design, mechanical design, control hardware design, grid regulation coordination, software design, and integration/test

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution, power electronics, or control system design
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, energetic, positive, and flexible in changing environments
  • Ability to demonstrate a structured approach to problem solving and learning agility
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in project teams in an international environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Related electrical engineering experience through Co-Op or university classwork
  • Familiarity with power electronics and control systems
  • Familiarity with wind turbine or photovoltaic system technologies
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and measurement of power converters
  • Familiarity with Arc Flash analysis using EasyPower or SKM and testing
  • Passion for renewable energy and/or sustainability
