About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide oversight to the global delivery team managing employee and payroll information, employment tax, equity compensation, and operational risk processes
  • Create and govern global business continuity plans for People Operations workstreams
  • Build, implement, track, govern, and conform internal controls and business plans across HR People Operations
  • Work with internal and external auditors to manage, execute, track, report, and govern audits across HR shared services
  • Partner with global controllership and tax teams to develop local HR Services operational risk control frameworks
  • Support Finance with procedures and timely, accurate account reconciliations
  • Lead regulatory projects and maintain regulatory systems requirements
  • Execute annual SOX testing and serve as Payroll SOX liaison for external auditors
  • Develop and maintain Payroll and Benefits segregation-of-duties controls
  • Review HR Services account reconciliations and financial transactions, and respond to tax notifications
  • Mentor global, regional, and local teams on internal controls and compliance culture
  • Own project governance and operating rhythms, including communications, reporting, and reviews
  • Lead HR operational risk, tax, pay and benefit compliance, and controllership standards
  • Track and research proposed and enacted local, state, and federal regulations
  • Serve as key contact for government investigations and inquiries
  • Design and lead regulatory and compliance education and training programs
  • Lead cross-functional teams and projects as an operational risk expert; develop and present business solutions and maintain a risk register
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor changing HR Services operational-risk regulations and payroll compliance with applicable laws, tax codes, and labor regulations
  • Create and maintain payroll policies and procedures covering data security, confidentiality, and accuracy
  • Design and document business continuity plans with regional delivery teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources & HR Operations Service Delivery
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise with payroll governance and/or controllership or related operational risk management within a multinational organization
  • Significant prior professional work experience with payroll processes, regulatory compliance and/or Operations/Service-oriented environment strongly preferred
  • Experience with global mobility programs, time and attendance systems and Workday, ideally in manufacturing environments
  • Skilled in project management and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence, advise and guide leadership and high-level operational leaders
  • Demonstrated judgment for strategic decisions and complex problems
  • Ability to evaluate information quality and question conflicting data
  • Ability to develop solutions and recommendations outside set parameters
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • Ability to transfer knowledge and develop others through coaching and mentoring
  • Strong consultative skills
