About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead the Project Engineering Office
  • Assess resource requirements, recruit employees, and develop the skills of assigned team members
  • Coordinate and support engineering functions in operations, processes and continuous improvement, as well as project quality
  • Prepare the engineering S&OP, establish workload and resource plans, and standardize methodologies
  • Define, consolidate monthly, and analyze engineering performance indicators
  • Organize periodic and project closeout reviews and monitor action plans
  • Lead the CIB, schedule reviews, and monitor decisions and action plans
  • Map, maintain, and facilitate access to engineering function processes
  • Develop the engineering quality manual and facilitate access to it for employees
  • Define and deploy continuous improvement initiatives with Lean teams, particularly through Kaizen/Work-out sessions
  • Define a lessons-learned process through to its integration into engineering standards and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree or engineering degree, preferably in electrical engineering (electrotechnics, power electronics, control systems, etc.)
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering and preferably electrical equipment
  • Ability to manage a team and interface with other engineering or support-function teams
  • Strong knowledge of engineering processes
  • Strong knowledge of Lean processes and continuous improvement tools
  • Ability to motivate engineering teams and foster team spirit
  • Leadership and assertiveness
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at all levels: internal/external customers, senior management, team managers, and managers of other support functions
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Occasional travel required
