About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and propose application-specific power generation architectures
- Perform studies and simulations to validate system response and performance
- Develop and maintain BlockSIM reliability models for complex integrated power solutions
- Lead equipment coordination modeling for inside-the-fence power generation assets
- Translate customer availability, MTBF, and SLA expectations into electrical configuration and protective relaying requirements
- Support equipment LCOE and operational reliability requirements
- Translate customer reliability goals into engineering design inputs for reference architectures
- Perform reliability-centered simulations to derisk integration
- Define onsite generation reports and gather information for customer meetings and final report submission
- Serve as business unit coordinator for ongoing customer projects and proposals
- Lead cross-functional coordination studies and requirements testing across the power system
- Collaborate with Consulting Services and GE Vernova engineering, sales, and product development teams
- Interpret power generation reliability metrics and EPC project integration studies to inform system design and optimization
- Develop and apply standardized reference architectures to customer projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or business
- At least 12 years of professional experience in engineering, project or plant reliability, or a related function
- 5+ years of experience in engineering or technical consulting, including at least 2 years leading teams to deliver high-value technical or strategic solutions
- 5+ years developing and delivering technical presentations, including at least 3 years engaging directly with internal or external C-suite/executive leadership
- 5+ years managing complex engineering or policy initiatives, with a documented history of delivering at least 3 major projects on time and within budget
- 5+ years analyzing or navigating government structures, global energy policy, and power market mechanics, with ability to assess macroeconomic impacts of regulatory changes
- 5+ years with inside-the-fence power generation technologies, including gas generators, BESS, STATCOMs, HV/LV electrical gear, and fuel cell technologies
- 3+ years performing formal reliability studies, including FMECA, RCA, FTA, and RAM analysis
- 3+ years of direct experience using BlockSIM for reliability modeling
- Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 25% of the time
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Advanced degree in electrical, mechanical, or power systems engineering is desired
- Experience with MAPS or MARS is preferred
- Direct experience with prime-power or continuous-duty data center generation assets is desired
- Understanding of electrical selectivity, protective relay coordination, and PLC/SCADA systems is desired
- Understanding of technical regulatory standards, grid code compliance evaluation, testing and reporting, Data Center Tier Classification standards, and IEEE/ANSI electrical standards is desired
