About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Customer Service Manager in outage event preparation and execution from start to finish
  • Develop outage schedules and plan TFA/craft labor/tooling/costs
  • Manage customer pre- and post-outage meetings and mobilization planning
  • Lead onsite execution as site lead with large teams during assigned outages
  • Manage job cost tracking, productivity, execution risk and FMEA
  • Improve on-time delivery, outage cost and productivity; maintain tracking files and control man-hour cost and pacing
  • Support project quotation development, work scope definition, site condition checks, safety and risk analysis
  • Support customer operations during turbine, generator and auxiliary-system shutdown, start-up, running and performance testing
  • Prepare, review, store and deliver execution documentation, including field, quality, EHS and customer outage reports
  • Use web systems to allocate, prepare, plan and forecast labor, tooling and vendor management
  • Respond promptly to forced outages and emergencies, investigate and escalate site issues, and restore units to operating condition
  • Support technical communication with customer staff during outage execution
  • Improve and simplify existing processes
  • Lead complex planned and emergent steam turbine and generator outages for assigned territories or locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/engineering or a High School Diploma / GED and 4 years of experience in power generation industry
  • Minimum of 8+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge on steam turbine or generator maintenance
  • 3+ years of specialized/industry experience of gas/steam turbine generator & auxiliary system outage planning and execution
  • English proficiency required
  • Strong project management and planning skills; Primavera scheduling tool preferred
  • PC proficiency, web applications including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong technical and maintenance knowledge of gas/steam turbines and generators
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Successful completion of a background investigation
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50%+ of the time
