About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, execute, and coordinate the mechanical and functional commissioning of hydraulic turbines and their auxiliary systems
- Perform functional tests during the assembly, pre-commissioning, first run, and unit operation stages
- Commission critical systems such as governors, distributors, servomotors, bearings, and shaft sealing systems
- Validate pressurized oil, lubrication, cooling, drainage, and mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation systems
- Monitor critical parameters during testing, including vibration, bearing temperature, shaft displacement, and operating pressures
- Participate in performance tests, including load rejection, overspeed, and hydraulic transient analysis
- Identify mechanical or hydraulic failures, issue technical reports, and propose engineering solutions for nonconformities
- Ensure that field activities strictly comply with technical, contractual, and safety requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical or higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field
- Proven experience commissioning hydraulic turbines at hydroelectric power plants
- Strong knowledge of turbine technologies, including Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, or similar turbines
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Intermediate English proficiency
- Basic Spanish is a plus
- Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation in Latin American countries
