About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, execute, and coordinate the mechanical and functional commissioning of hydraulic turbines and their auxiliary systems
Perform functional tests during the assembly, pre-commissioning, first run, and unit operation stages
Commission critical systems such as governors, distributors, servomotors, bearings, and shaft sealing systems
Validate pressurized oil, lubrication, cooling, drainage, and mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation systems
Monitor critical parameters during testing, including vibration, bearing temperature, shaft displacement, and operating pressures
Participate in performance tests, including load rejection, overspeed, and hydraulic transient analysis
Identify mechanical or hydraulic failures, issue technical reports, and propose engineering solutions for nonconformities
Ensure that field activities strictly comply with technical, contractual, and safety requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Technical or higher education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field
Proven experience commissioning hydraulic turbines at hydroelectric power plants
Strong knowledge of turbine technologies, including Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, or similar turbines
Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
Intermediate English proficiency
Basic Spanish is a plus
Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation in Latin American countries
