About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute the commissioning of synchronous generators at hydroelectric power plants, from assembly through operation under load.
  • Perform static and dynamic electrical tests, including insulation resistance, saturation curves, short-circuit, and heating tests.
  • Monitor and validate unit performance during mechanical run, synchronization, and performance testing.
  • Operate data acquisition systems and measurement instrumentation to analyze electrical and thermal quantities.
  • Identify performance deviations, prepare detailed technical reports, and propose corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support for integrated testing of excitation, protection, and automation systems.
  • Ensure that field activities comply with technical and contractual standards and safety requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous experience commissioning generators at hydroelectric power plants.
  • Strong practical knowledge of electrical testing for large synchronous machines.
  • Advanced knowledge of IEEE 115 and IEC 60034 standards.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, technical manuals, and project specifications.
  • Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation in Latin American countries.
