About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for supplier quality for drive, bearing, and fastener commodities
  • Drive proactive Supplier Performance Engineering and define standard work
  • Validate measurement protocols and govern the technical maturity of the supply base
  • Ensure suppliers can scale with the NPI pipeline
  • Ensure processes are validated, frozen, and digitally integrated into GE Vernova systems
  • Serve as the primary technical gatekeeper for NPI and production readiness
  • Validate design-to-process assumptions and pause or stop NPI gates when Cpk or MSA are not proven
  • Design and implement commodity-specific standard work for APQP, PPAP, and process audits
  • Enforce Frozen Process protocols and control manufacturing, assembly, and inspection parameters
  • Own resolution of systemic non-conformances and ensure rigorous 8D/3L5W problem solving
  • Drive supplier ownership and coach/certify suppliers to lead PFMEA and risk-mitigation efforts
  • Support the SQE team during peak workloads and critical NPI launches
  • Perform hands-on PPAP validations and process audits
  • Provide direct technical execution on high-risk commodities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality within a high-precision, industrial environment (Wind, Automotive, or Aerospace)
  • Deep commodity expertise in Drives, Bearings, or High-Strength Fasteners
  • Experience with related special processes, including Heat Treatment, Machining, and Surface Coating
  • Mastery of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA (ANOVA/Type 1)
  • Demonstrated experience driving complex Root Cause Analysis using 8D/3L5W
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 40%
  • Experience implementing digital quality solutions and data-driven process monitoring at external supplier sites
  • Ability to mentor SQE teams and coach suppliers through complex maturity transformations
  • Strong situational leadership skills and ability to remain calm and decisive during high-pressure quality escalations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
