About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate the mechanical and functional commissioning of hydraulic turbines and their auxiliary systems
  • Perform functional tests during the assembly, pre-commissioning, first spin, and unit operation stages
  • Commission critical systems, including speed governors, distributors, servomotors, bearings, and shaft sealing systems
  • Validate pressurized oil, lubrication, cooling, drainage, and mechanical/hydraulic instrumentation systems
  • Monitor critical parameters during testing, including vibration, bearing temperature, shaft displacement, and operating pressures
  • Participate in performance tests, including load rejection, overspeed, and hydraulic transient analysis
  • Identify mechanical or hydraulic failures, issue technical reports, and propose engineering solutions for nonconformities
  • Ensure that field activities strictly comply with technical, contractual, and safety requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Technical or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience commissioning hydraulic turbines at hydropower plants
  • Strong knowledge of turbine technologies, including Francis, Kaplan, Pelton, or similar turbines
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Intermediate English proficiency
  • Full availability for travel and extended assignments or relocation in Latin American countries
  • Basic Spanish is a plus
