About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify operating parameters for steam turbines to ensure safe operation
- Interface with Steam Turbine Controls Engineering to provide input into the steam turbine controller
- Define instrumentation required for safe and effective operation, including sensor/instrument positioning and specifications
- Provide guidance to mechanical design teams
- Support commercial operation entry for new steam turbine equipment from new unit requisition projects
- Support commissioning activities and monitor unit behavior
- Analyze operational field data from the steam turbine fleet
- Share analysis results and recommendations with internal steam turbine design teams
- Support development of technical standards, best practices, design practices, and process improvements
- Lead small teams to drive results and define practices
- Support Product Service with operability questions for the operational fleet
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant experience in steam turbine design and/or operability
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology from an accredited university or college
- For USA-based roles: 3 years of experience in steam turbine design and/or operability
- At least 3 years of experience in systems engineering preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
