About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete field- and workshop-based work as required
- Provide on-site technical direction, hands-on service, and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of customer-owned utility and industrial facilities
- Prepare job planning documents defining outage scope using engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions
- Communicate with management and colleagues using customers' Critical to Quality needs in job planning and execution
- Lead skilled labor performing work on customer sites
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checkout for power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, turbines, motors, and generators
- Troubleshoot electromechanical operations and maintenance problems in the Power Delivery field
- Perform administrative functions, including writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status and customer reports, timesheets, and expense sheets
- Exercise good judgment in controlling company costs and expenditures
- Maintain a strong safety mindset and ensure executed work meets technical requirements within TGE safety standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma / GED
- Appropriately qualified Electrical Fitter with proven HV experience, or Electrical Technician / Technologist or Electrician with proven HV experience
- Familiarity with test equipment and testing procedures
- Computer literacy
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent English speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Proven experience leading a field service team
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel
- Flexibility required
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Access
- Basic Workplace First Aid
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
