About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with Electric Utilities System Operators and Transmission System Operators
  • Provide technical expertise and customer guidance on GE Vernova software solutions such as AEMS Reliance
  • Gather information from customers, investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex issues
  • Support incoming tickets across various AEMS power system modules
  • Develop fixes and product enhancements with GE Vernova Electrification Software experts
  • Maintain power systems application functionality, including code fixes, documentation, and user interfaces
  • Perform regular build deployment activities and orchestrate deployments through production
  • Handle out-of-hours 24/7 emergency support
  • Facilitate relationships between customers and third-party vendors
  • Travel to customer sites in the region as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Knowledge level comparable to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience)
  • Degree in electrical Power Systems plus track record in software development or project delivery in related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers
  • Excellent programming skills in C, C++, C#, Python or other related language
  • Knowledge or experience in any RDBMS and Linux
  • Good understanding of power systems and/or energy management systems, with focus on transmission Network Applications like State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow or Dispatcher Training Simulator
  • Work and/or academic experience in the power systems area
  • Knowledge and experience with electric utility industry practices
  • Strong knowledge of customer perspective and needs
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Background checks and suitability assessments, including UK Security Clearance (SC), may be required based on customer requirements
