About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on customer biomedical equipment
- Evaluate complex biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs
- Perform planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, and maintain customer relations
- Follow and guide others regarding GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and required documentation
- Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues
- Maintain proactive daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
- Implement GE/customer facility contracts to support business goals and objectives
- Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on basic and complex repairs
- Provide efficient service delivery to accounts within the assigned area
- Share on-call/pager responsibility
- Document repair actions and submit scheduled reports and summaries
- Care for spares, tools, and test equipment; ensure calibration
- Maintain approved parts inventory
- Manage vendors’ service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies
- Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for safe and effective medical equipment use
- May serve as Site Leader and direct Biomedical Technicians and customer account activities
- Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Complete required quality and compliance training and report customer quality or compliance concerns
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment
- Equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment accepted
- High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment accepted
- Analytical and communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers
- Successful completion of GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test
- Compliance with customer access policies, including required immunizations and possible additional drug tests or background checks
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
- Required color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception vision abilities
- Willingness to work after hours or a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
- Compliance with GEHC quality policies, laws, regulations, and required training
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
