About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects
- Deliver hardware for testing on the first-ever open fan engine
- Mature composite technology through component rig testing
- Perform mechanical design and analysis for the Composite Midfan Case
- Execute design reviews and provide manufacturing support
- Own the midfan blade-out and bird-ingestion rig mission
- Lead or contribute to program and department operating rhythms
- Manage key performance metrics and action planning/problem solving
- Handle complex tasks in composite manufacturing, technology development, and engineering
- Oversee functional teams or projects with significant risk and/or complexity
- Integrate closely with test teams and ensure pre-test reviews and tollgates are met
- Partner with the Systems focal to ensure conformance to requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an Engineering or Science discipline
- Minimum of three years of experience in a similar engineering role
- Knowledge of composite design fundamentals
- Ability to assess risk and balance technical requirements with program needs
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)
- May be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing
