About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform key supply-chain daily operations within an assigned site, including materials management and sourcing
- Learn state-of-the-art manufacturing methods
- Support manufacturing and repair processes for component hardware and/or overall engine assembly
- Maintain quality standards through risk assessment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and statistical controls
- Support safe work conditions through Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and operational stability
- Support delivery efforts for sourced components by working with shops and suppliers
- Build project management, negotiation, and business acumen skills
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program
- Accepted major in Computer Engineering, Business Administration with Operations or Supply Chain focus, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant/similar major
- Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations
- Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transportation
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- No employment visa sponsorship available now or in the future
- Ability to prove U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop-floor environment around machine tools and equipment
- Preference for prior internship, co-op, or military experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering
- Demonstrated community and/or university involvement
