About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build professional and technical skills in an aerospace systems and defense role
  • Work on challenging, real-world problems to design aerospace systems for commercial and military applications and support them through service life
  • Gain broad exposure to engineering opportunities ranging from design and analysis to hands-on work with aerospace systems
  • Experience work in engine controls, navigation and guidance systems, gas turbine engine components, electrical power systems, mechanical systems, vehicle health and data management systems, mission systems, computing systems, and platform systems integration
  • Perform design, analysis, development, and testing
  • Write software requirements
  • Conduct software testing and simulation
  • Develop tools
  • Provide product and program support
  • Build relationships with interns, co-ops, and leaders
  • Consider preferences, major, year of schooling, and business needs during placement
  • Prepare for a potential full-time position after graduation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale without rounding
  • Attending a full-time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program
  • Engineering program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Willingness and ability to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation, as many sites lack public transportation
  • Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
  • Strong commitment to a career in technology and passion for engineering
  • Strong knowledge of computer and Microsoft products
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
