About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary set of engineers to analyze compressible flows in supersonic and hypersonic flight conditions
  • Lead and participate in high-fidelity computational analyses to guide design improvements in aerodynamics
  • Document and communicate assumptions, inputs and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for review
  • Support validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop or larger-scale testing
  • Prepare presentations and slides to communicate ideas and/or progress on projects
  • Interact with industry partners and subcontractors to review aerodynamic analyses

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3-5 years of aerodynamics analysis experience of supersonic flows
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and applying them to technical tasks
  • Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Skilled in CFD, preferably using Pointwise, iCFD++ and Tecplot
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Be willing to work out of an office located in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL
