About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary set of engineers to analyze compressible flows in supersonic and hypersonic flight conditions
- Lead and participate in high-fidelity computational analyses to guide design improvements in aerodynamics
- Document and communicate assumptions, inputs and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for review
- Support validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop or larger-scale testing
- Prepare presentations and slides to communicate ideas and/or progress on projects
- Interact with industry partners and subcontractors to review aerodynamic analyses
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- 3-5 years of aerodynamics analysis experience of supersonic flows
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and applying them to technical tasks
- Ability to investigate, model and provide critical insight into complex physical flow phenomena
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Skilled in CFD, preferably using Pointwise, iCFD++ and Tecplot
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Be willing to work out of an office located in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL
