Engineering Manager – Engine Clearances, Advanced Mechanical Design

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead engineering engine clearances analysis and design execution for advanced component architectures across multiple Defense & Systems programs
- Execute and review design, analysis, and evaluation work using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, procedures, and product/program requirements
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to an engineering team with approximately 10+ direct reports
- Foster a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Influence strategy for your area of responsibility, including resource planning and input to policy and process improvements
- Stay current on industry trends in turbomachinery and mechanical component design
- Use strong engineering judgment to make decisions on complex technical and operational topics
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects with moderate complexity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including substantial mechanical design work
- Successful candidate must obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
- Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (desired)
- Expertise in turbomachinery components engineering design and/or analysis (desired)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders (desired)
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, or leading engineers (desired)
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems and drive design decisions (desired)
- Established project management skills in a technical environment (desired)
