Key responsibilities & impact

Lead engineering engine clearances analysis and design execution for advanced component architectures across multiple Defense & Systems programs
Execute and review design, analysis, and evaluation work using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, procedures, and product/program requirements
Provide technical direction and mentoring to an engineering team with approximately 10+ direct reports
Foster a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Influence strategy for your area of responsibility, including resource planning and input to policy and process improvements
Stay current on industry trends in turbomachinery and mechanical component design
Use strong engineering judgment to make decisions on complex technical and operational topics
Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects with moderate complexity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including substantial mechanical design work
Successful candidate must obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (desired)
Expertise in turbomachinery components engineering design and/or analysis (desired)
Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders (desired)
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, or leading engineers (desired)
Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems and drive design decisions (desired)
Established project management skills in a technical environment (desired)
