About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engineering engine clearances analysis and design execution for advanced component architectures across multiple Defense & Systems programs
  • Execute and review design, analysis, and evaluation work using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, procedures, and product/program requirements
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to an engineering team with approximately 10+ direct reports
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Influence strategy for your area of responsibility, including resource planning and input to policy and process improvements
  • Stay current on industry trends in turbomachinery and mechanical component design
  • Use strong engineering judgment to make decisions on complex technical and operational topics
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects with moderate complexity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including substantial mechanical design work
  • Successful candidate must obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (desired)
  • Expertise in turbomachinery components engineering design and/or analysis (desired)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders (desired)
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, or leading engineers (desired)
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems and drive design decisions (desired)
  • Established project management skills in a technical environment (desired)
