About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements
- Workscope includes material selection for new designs and troubleshooting of manufacturing issues
- Support and drive business strategy for improvement in special processes for critical rotating parts
- Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
- Participate on business and industry teams supporting improvement in the application of special processes for critical rotating parts
- Define technical specifications and establish process limits
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects and/or tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor Degree Science in Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy and a minimum of 3 years of material application, failure analysis, forge processing, isothermal forgings or material behavior work (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of the same experience)
- Desired Characteristics: Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in material application, failure analysis, forge processing, or material behavior work
- Experience in isothermal forgings
- Experience with aerospace or gas turbine industry manufacturing, quality systems and field support
- Experience with metallic forge and heat treat processing of rotating part forgings and materials
- In-depth understanding of metallurgy, manufacturing processes and inspections such as forging, heat treatment, macroetch and blue etch anodize inspection etc
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams
- Must have ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Must have desire to perform technical work
