Key responsibilities & impact

Collaboration with multidisciplinary set of engineers to design and analyze mechanical components and systems for experimental Hypersonic, aero-thermal test rigs
Execute the design, analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles
Develop mechanical systems from proof-of-concept to final manufacturable components using 3D CAD
Perform analyses ranging from classical textbook methods and 1D spreadsheet calculations to Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Prepare drawings to manufacture prototypes of an experimental setup
Document and communicate assumptions, inputs and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for review
Support validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop or larger-scale testing
Prepare presentations and slides to communicate ideas and/or progress on projects
Ability to work well with Integrated Product Teams to verify novel design solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university
5+ years design and analysis experience
Strong understanding of engineering principles and applying them to technical tasks
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Skilled in mechanical design using 3D CAD Siemens NX or equivalent
Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
