Sourcing Manufacturing Engineer – Initiatives Leader

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and drive complex delivery, cost, capacity, and design issues with suppliers
- Partner with Business Sourcing Leadership to develop Growth Playbook strategies
- Identify opportunities to create competition by expanding global footprint
- Act as the Manufacturing Engineering focal for assigned supplier base
- Assess Lean and capacity capabilities at assigned suppliers and engage Systems FLIGHT DECK (Lean) teams to drive Cost projects
- Provide manufacturing expertise across multiple related part families and processes
- Proactively identify delivery barriers and resolve with Fulfilment, Commercial, and Quality teams
- Manage projects for suppliers and collaborate with internal and external teams to implement solutions
- Drive cost reduction efforts within assigned supply base
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with at least 12 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with Suppliers
- 15+ years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Supply Chain (desired)
- 10+ years of experience in Sourcing, Shop Operations, and Production Control (desired)
- 10+ years of experience in Aerospace and/or Automotive (desired)
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (desired)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
