About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership as a subject matter expert on new development projects
  • Lead programs in determining product certification strategy and certification basis
  • Lead compliance planning and determination of means of compliance
  • Interpret aircraft regulatory material and determine project impact
  • Audit project/product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis
  • Champion minimum effort solutions for meeting civil compliance
  • Assess changes to approved/certified products to determine minor or major classification
  • Provide technical leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Travel 10% or more (domestic and international).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with software development and/or hardware development and/or systems development
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with RTCA/DO-254 and/or DO-178B/C and/or ARP4754A
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) preferred
  • 10+ years of direct design experience with ASIC, FPGA, and CPLD technologies preferred
  • 10+ years of experience with regulatory compliance related to RTCA/DO-254, DO-178B/C, and ARP4754A in safety-critical applications preferred
  • Direct DER and/or ODA unit member experience preferred
  • Strong oral and communications skills preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization required.
