About the role

  • A GE Aerospace Field Service Engineer (FSE) serves as the primary point of contact for all customer technical matters in support of their commercial aviation engines.
  • The support team operates 24/7, providing technical advice and assistance to customers on the operation, maintenance, repair, logistics support, and installation of jet engines.
  • In this role, the FSE will provide on-site interpretation of OEM data and technical instructions and communicate with internal teams on the status of engine programs, events, and trends.
  • The FSE’s mission is to prevent the next operational event and keep their customer’s fleet operating reliably by addressing operational issues as they arise and managing the technical program plan for each supported engine model.
  • Provide Leadership and Technical Support: Offer technical direction and assistance to the customers operation, inspections, maintenance, and repair of assigned fleets.
  • Monitor and Improve Reliability: Track reliability and on-wing performance, including significant events, engine removals, delays, and cancellations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or technical degree from an accredited university or college (or work experience in relevant fields)
  • Experience working in airline operations or maintenance planning, engineering, aviation propulsion, or another related field.
  • Technical expertise in aircraft engine or turbomachinery equipment.
  • Experience using software or data analytics to make informed technical decisions and to provide recommendations to the customer or other key internal stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to forge deep relations at all levels.
