About the role
- Define short- and long-term vision and execute strategies to meet both customer and business needs utilizing FLIGHT DECK
- Lead with Daily Management rigor to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, with a focus on fostering a cross-functional Problem-Solving culture
- Ensure efficient use of resources (labor, materials, equipment) to maximize productivity and minimize costs
- Collaborate with leadership and frontline employees to foster a culture of continuous improvement and empower all team members to contribute to the ongoing optimization of operations
- Drive the implementation of standardized work processes and visual management systems to enhance transparency, accountability, and performance visibility
- Develop and manage the annual manufacturing operations budget
- Stay current with new manufacturing technologies, automation trends, and industry advancements
- Coordination and collaboration with cross functional teams across multiple areas for planning, execution and documentation to meet the customer needs
- Participate in S&OP to ensure that Operational capacity is maintained at the required standard
- Facilitate decision-making and problem-solving discussions and provide effective communication across the plant
- Lead and develop a team of business leaders, manufacturing supervisors, and operational staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or Fulfillment Experience)
- At least an additional 5 years shop operations leadership experience
- At least 5–10 years operations leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement leading a large manufacturing team
- Experience in lean culture development and lean tool implementation
- Manufacturing experience in metal machining
- Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines and environmental regulations
- Resourceful, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with overall management acumen
- Ability to effectively deploy resources to key priorities with resources at hand
- Experience setting high expectations (driven by metrics and countermeasures) for self and the team
- Ability and passion to rapidly learn and utilize the business system and achieve objectives.
- Track record, passion and relentless drive for achieving manufacturing and operational results, financial results, and effective and timely decision making
- Experience identifying, developing, and encouraging talent
- Experience leading, directing, and positively motivating others
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
