About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the development team in researching, evaluating, and refining creative concepts, talent opportunities, and destination-driven story ideas.
- Conduct research on U.S. travel trends, emerging destinations, tourism initiatives, cultural events, and audience interests.
- Assist in the preparation of pitch materials, development presentations, treatment documents, and project proposals.
- Track project status and maintain development pipelines, databases, and production documentation.
- Coordinate communication with producers, talent, tourism boards, destination marketing organizations, and external partners.
- Support production planning and logistics for travel shoots across the United States.
- Coordinate schedules, production calendars, deliverables, travel arrangements, permits, and location information.
- Maintain production trackers, budgets, contact lists, and project documentation.
- Assist with gathering production assets, releases, contracts, and approvals.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, freelance crews, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Monitor deadlines and project milestones throughout the development and production lifecycle.
- Proactively identify scheduling conflicts, production risks, and workflow bottlenecks, escalating issues early to keep projects on track.
- Organize meetings, distribute agendas, capture notes, and track action items.
- Maintain content libraries, production archives, and shared resources.
- Assist with reporting, performance tracking, and post-production deliverables.
- Assist in organizing production assets, including footage, scripts, releases, graphics, thumbnails, and delivery materials.
- Support process improvements that enhance efficiency across development and production workflows.
- Research competitive programming and identify opportunities for new content franchises and partnerships.
- Monitor destination developments, major events, and travel industry news relevant to programming initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Production, Marketing, Tourism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in television, digital media, content production, development, tourism marketing, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in travel, storytelling, and U.S. destinations.
- Experience supporting television, streaming, digital, or branded content productions (preferred).
- Familiarity with production workflows, budgeting, and scheduling (preferred).
- Knowledge of the U.S. travel and tourism industry (preferred).
- Experience working with destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, or hospitality partners (preferred).
- Basic understanding of content analytics and audience performance metrics (preferred).
