About the role
- Responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts
- Determine the content and flow of daily newscasts
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Digital Manager, and Anchors
- Generate and write compelling stories and drive editorial content
- Develop engaging content for broadcast and web platforms
- Ensure newscasts are accurate, informative, and visually appealing
Requirements
- Strong news judgment and a passion for storytelling
- Excellent writing skills that are clear, compelling, and accurate
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and deliver under tight deadlines
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
- Flexibility, creativity, and strong problem-solving abilities under pressure
- Proficiency with non-linear editing (Avid preferred) and newsroom systems such as iNews
- Previous producing experience at a commercial TV station preferred (exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered)
- A degree in journalism or a related field preferred
